There is Something for Everyone in Prescott
Prescott welcomes visitors and citizens with the motto, "Everybody's Hometown." There is certainly something for everyone here. This eclectic city with a population of around 40,000 people retains much of its small-town western charm with a very northern look and plenty of big-city convenience.

Serving as Arizona's first territorial capital, Prescott grew around a very vivid history and is an educational delight for history-buffs and cultural enthusiasts alike. Much of Prescott's north/midwestern architecture was encouraged by President Lincoln as a way to establish a more northern attitude among residents during a time when slavery was supported by much of the south. The city is a mecca of museums, art galleries, libraries, stage theatres and public art that reflects the western folklore and legends that evolved the city through today. In addition to it historical attachment, Prescott encourages a healthy, active population.

Sitting on the northern edge of the Prescott National Forest, mountain activities abound. Extreme sports enthusiasts welcome Granite Mountain's recognition as a national rock-climbing destination. For those who prefer milder activity, a web of well-established hiking trails weaves throughout the city. Residents and visitors who just prefer to surround themselves in nature appreciate the largest colony of Ponderosa Pine in the world that makes its home in the Prescott National Forest and the natural rock formations of the Granite Dells inspire a daily sense of awe and wonder.

Home to the prestigious Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and many other institutions of higher education, Prescott is a source of valuable education. The Prescott Unified School District serves 5000 students and boasts test scores higher than national averages. With its state-of-the art education, Prescott also offers the area state-of-the-art medical facilities.

Yavapai Regional Medical Center is a fully accredited, 136 bed hospital serving the tri-city area with around 200 physicians in a plethora of specialties. With Money Magazine's recognition as one of the 20 best places to retire, Prescott, Arizona can't be beat.
